The Story

Stephen Rayleigh began looking for a creative passion 25 years ago to balance his corporate life in commercial real estate and development.

Originally Stephen explored pottery until his tutor commented that his work featured such organic forms that he might try sculpture – which he did, in clay and stone. But it wasn’t until Stephen began a cabinetmaking course that he found his true craft.

Stephen mastered his technique and practice over many years, producing bespoke furniture in varnished hardwoods for family, close friends and associates. As word spread of the quality and precision of his work, so did the demand for his custom designs.

Stephen now specialises in repairing and restoring vintage rocking horses, and enjoys producing designer culinary boards from Australian hardwood.
